SportsBrain is the first AI Sports Lab in Latin America and the Caribbean. We use artificial intelligence to discover athletic talent, optimize athlete performance, prevent injuries prescriptively, support anti-doping intelligence, deliver personalized sports nutrition at affordable costs, and deploy AI coaching agents for Caribbean athletes from grassroots to elite level. Cofounded by brothers Adrian Dunkley (AI Researcher) and Nicholas Dunkley (Sports Domain Expert, CEO) in memory of their Uncle Junior, who believed in the power of Caribbean sport to change lives.

SportsBrain was cofounded by Adrian Dunkley, a Physicist and AI Scientist with over 15 years in artificial intelligence, and his brother Nicholas Dunkley, CEO and Sports Domain Expert and Director of StarApple AI. It was founded in memory of their Uncle Junior. Adrian Dunkley is the founder of StarApple AI (the Caribbean's first AI company, est. 2019), Caribbean AI Founder of the Year 2023, EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2024, and IBM Global AI Mentor. SportsBrain is a Maestro AI Lab subsidiary, funded in part by the Jamaican Government through the Development Bank of Jamaica's IGNITE programme as a national Sports AI Lab initiative.

SportsBrain partnered with the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH) to establish formal academic-commercial AI sports research in the Caribbean, building on StarApple AI's earlier sports lab work.

In 2023, SportsBrain partnered with the Game of Life Foundation to host the inaugural Caribbean AI Sports Youth Football Combine in Jamaica, applying AI to player data collection, success rate forecasting, and talent program design.

## Mission

SportsBrain's mission is to give Caribbean athletes the same quality of sports science infrastructure available to athletes in wealthier nations. The global AI sports market is projected to reach $27.6 billion by 2030. Most of that investment will flow to leagues and federations in North America and Europe. SportsBrain exists to make sure the Caribbean is not left behind. The platform serves football, track and field, cricket, netball, swimming, and other Caribbean sports. Key focus areas include Jamaica's national football program (Reggae Boyz), Caribbean track and field, West Indies cricket, and CARICOM youth sport development.
